   Twenty-five summers I have climbed alone the steep and rocky mountain. Past trail and marker, with backpack and tent, I have hiked to my sanctuary-near-heaven.
   Each trek has been a milestone marking progress in the ultimate journey -- the search for the divine. It has been a quest to go beyond surface to essence. It has demanded the full engagement of the mind.
   My quest for an immovable place as a foundation upon which to build life and love has brought me to the Old and New Testaments. I have attempted to understand those most amazing messages. These writings reflect the discoveries of my soul and the exhilaration of the journey.
   Whether in great gulps, or daily or weekly sips, I invite you to kneel beside still waters -- and reflect.
